WINDEMERE RANCH MIDDLE SCHOOL EDUCATION FUND: THE SECRET OF OUR SUCCESS

WINDEMERE RANCH MIDDLE SCHOOL EDUCATION FUND: THE SECRET OF OUR SUCCESS

Tax ID: 04-3815491   Address: 11611 East Branch Parkway, San Ramon, CA 94582

Welcome to an extraordinary community of parents, teachers, and learners!  Windemere Ranch is one of the top-performing middle schools in all of Contra Costa County – and in the top 1% statewide. Our academic success doesn’t just happen.  It reflects the concerted efforts of visionary administrators, superb teachers, a dedicated staff … and committed parents.  Many parents have demanding schedules that make it difficult for them to volunteer.  But EVERY parent can support the Education Fund.  And every year, nearly all of them do. That’s the secret of our success. But some families, especially those who are new to the school, may not be aware of what the Ed Fund is and why it’s so important.

What is WRMS Ed Fund?
There are three organizations on campus run by parent volunteers: Site Council, PTSA, and Ed Fund. Each has a very important but very different purpose.
  • Site Council sets school goals for specific improvements (“Single Plan for Student Achievement”) and establishes the allocation of state funds in support of that plan.
  • PTSA organizes community-building events like Heritage Night and school dances.
  • The Ed Fund raises money to directly enhance your child’s educational opportunities and experience at WRMS.

Our fundraising goal for this year’s Registration is $250,000 so that we can provide for the 2023-24 school year:

Class size reduction Reduce average student to teacher ratio at Windemere Ranch from 35:1 to about 29:1
Technology Support Refreshing computers around campus and providing engaging and innovative tech programs and software that are used in classrooms schoolwide.
Elective Classes
Provide many, many electives and hands-on experiential learning opportunities like Music and Visual Performing Arts, Environmental Science, Forensic Science, Technology Classes, Cooking/Baking, World Languages

Why are Donations Needed?
Even though WRMS is a public school and is state-funded, the funding we receive isn’t enough to maintain the level of excellence in education that we want for our children. Every school receives a base level of funding from the state. Additional funding beyond that is based on ESL, family income, and other factors. Being in a zip code with one of the highest average incomes in the country, we receive much less funding than schools in nearby communities like Oakland and Hayward, and even less than some other schools in our district.

How are Funds Distributed?
Nearly all (99%) of your donation goes directly to class size reduction, technology support, and school improvements. Additionally, your support directly contributed to WRMS being recognized as a California Distinguished School in 2019 and a National Blue Ribbon School in 2022!

To maintain the academic standards that WRMS is known for, we need your support. Here are some ways you can help today:
  • Donate! Every dollar helps - DONATE NOW
  • Corporate Match: If you've already donated, please check to see if your employer is able to match your donation. Email wrmsefcorpmatch@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

As our Principal Sharon Baltazar likes to say - your donations to EdFund help us reimagine success for every child and create the best possible learning environment. Every dollar helps. The Education Fund is truly the secret of Windemere Ranch's success.

Thank you for your support of our students and our school!
