TIER 3 INTERVENTION

TIER 3 INTERVENTION

Math180 (Course 1 or 2) - Math support elective for 7th and 8th graders that are two or more years below grade level
 
Reading Intervention- Targeted reading support elective for 7th and 8th graders that are two or more years below grade level
 
Success- Support elective for 7th and 8th graders who struggle with organization, motivation, missing or incomplete work
 
Reading Pull Out- Wheel elective pull out for 6th graders who are reading below grade level
 
Students are recommended for intervention electives based on CAASPP scores, class assessments, and teacher recommendation. Students who take these electives are regularly reassessed to monitor progress. Students are offered the option to exit these electives once they test at grade level.

WEEKLY TUTORIAL INFORMATION AND FAQs.

The tutorial is designed to provide students with an opportunity to get extra practice and guidance in a particular subject area.  Students have the opportunity to choose different sessions that meet their needs.  It also provides an opportunity for teachers to see students outside their regular classroom activities and give them additional support, if the teachers deem it necessary.
 
FAQs:
  1. It is recommended that students wait until Friday to sign up for tutorial. Not all the sessions are available until then.
  2. Each week, a different department has priority. That means that if a teacher in the priority department wants to see a student for tutorial, that student may not be moved from that session.
  3. A closed session means that a teacher assigns a student to a specific tutorial. This is typically because the teacher has determined that the student needs a little bit of extra practice on a specific skill.
  4. Tutorial is not one on one teacher tutoring and should not be treated as such. If you feel your student could use extra support, you may contact the teacher, counselors, or an outside of school tutor to find solutions to help meet your child’s needs.
  5. Students who fail to sign up by Monday, for Wednesday's and Thursday’s tutorial may receive a lunch detention.
