AFTER-SCHOOL SPORTS BEGIN IN THE FALL (More info coming soon)

Your child may participate in as many sports as they want. Sports are offered 2 days a week and go throughout most of the year. Sports include Flag Football, Cross Country, Volleyball, Dodgeball, Badminton, and Track & Field.

As we plan for the upcoming school year, we want to share an important update regarding our after-school sports program.   In past years, we asked for a single $100 donation to support all sports, but we ended last year with a $6,000 shortfall. While our PTSA generously covered that gap for 2025–2026, we are not able to rely on those funds again. To sustain the program, we will move to a $65 per sport model for the 2026–2027 school year. Each sport will need to be financially self-sustaining, and any sport that does not receive enough participation and donations may need to be canceled.

WINDEMERE RANCH MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORT EXPECTATIONS

This opportunity for a team sports experience would not be possible without the enthusiastic commitment of the students and your support of them as parents.
Unfortunately, neither the school nor the district provides transportation.  This means that each parent must provide transportation to the away game. If you are willing to be a chaperone, then you must fill out the volunteer form that will be provided in the fall.
All games start when the visiting school arrives at their destination.  Games last for approximately an hour.  Usually games will be done by 4:15 give or take 10 minutes. After the game, students must be picked up and taken home.
We look forward to a fun season, and we thank you for all your support!
Sincerely,

Tim Walton
Athletic Director

Also, all our clubs and after school sports students have to adhere to these admin guidelines:
Being a part of the after school sports is a great opportunity for your student to extend their learning. It is important to remember that this activity is not a part of your student’s graded curriculum and work, and their participation in this activity is a very special privilege. As such, their participation in this activity is contingent upon how they meet our school community expectations. These privileges will be revoked in the case of any suspension or a Saturday School. We ask that you and your student review the WRMS Student Handbook (also located in the front of the Student Planner) and also carefully review the Responding to Discrimination and Hate Handbook, which can be found online. Remind your students that the use of discriminatory and hate language is never a joke and is not tolerated at Windemere Ranch Middle School.
